A bear cub squealed in pain as it was suddenly struck, desperately trying to get away. Crashing through the woods straight at Tsarmina came its mother, roaring with furious eyes red. Huge black paws pummelled the ground as she came nearer, death for the one that had hurt her cub in her intentions.
Glacier whinnied desperately as he instantly detected the danger, galloping towards it to protect his lead mare. I should have stayed closer! Where did this bear come from? I know it wasn't living here when I claimed this land!

Tsarmina stood her ground was ready for the hit. Then she noticed Glacier coming at them,"Stop!" Tsarmina dodged the huge mass of anger which was the mother bear. Tsarmina did not want to hurt the bear, for she was only trying to protect her cub.

Glacier skidded to a rapid halt, putting painful pressure on his legs. Why did she want him to stop? "Tsarmina!" he cried, "Run, this way!" With any luck, he hoped that they could outrun the bear, and that it would leave them alone if they gained enough distance away from it. But even then, he had to do something. He couldn't just leave such a dangerous creature on his land.

"No I am not leaving!" Tsarmina said as she once again doged a huge brown paw. She reared up and struck the bear in it's face.

The bear leapt at her, huge teeth bared and aimed for her neck as its claws aimed to latch onto her.
What is she thinking?! What's she trying to do, defend it?! In an instant Glacier was racing for the massive creature once again, trying to prevent it from hurting Tsarmina any more, and no matter what she said he was not going to stop again.

"For goodness sake STOP!!!" Tsarmina said, Glacier colliaded with the bear. Tsarmina squealed, she ran toward Glacier and ramed into his body. He couldn't hurt this bear, she was a mother and had to take care of her cubs!

Glacier tripped sideways, barely able to prevent himself from falling down. "Then LEAVE!" he cried in confusion. She wanted not to hurt the bear, but she refused to flee? The bear swiped at him with sharp claws, and he tried to leap away, but, still unbalanced, he crashed to the ground and received long, deep gashes at the base of his neck.

Tsarmina did not run to Glacier's side, she stood tere and nickered softly. The bear turned from Glacier and looked at Tsarmina, she kept nickering to her. The bear calmed down down walked away. Then and only then did Tsarmina rush to Glacier. "What were you thinking! Didn't you know bears are calmed by a smiple nicker?" Tsarmina asked.

Glacier glared at the ground, scuffing it with his hoof angrily. "No," he said sharply. Looking up, he said, "If you knew that, why didn't you do it before? You could've at least told me instead of making me think it was going to kill you!" Tears were running down his face as he stuttered hotly, "Why didn't-didn't you--just, just...!" The stallion turned away, his breath coming fast with mixed emotions of frustration and tense relief. His prior anxiety for his love had made him so.

"Oh, get a hold of yourself! What type of lead stallion is that?!" Tsarmina demanded, she would let in and comfort him. She did feel the need to anyways. She waited for a answer with a stern look on her face, like a mother how had just gotten her children in trouble.

Glacier exhaled sharply, a slight wry smile of realization appearing on his muzzle. "Well, I guess you're right," he said as if put out, looking back at her. "Shame on me. But more shame on you for making such a baby of me," he said mischevously, though in his eyes was a gaze of earnestness and deep love that had never before been loosed.

She smiled at him and said in a proper tone,"Now go alone back to bed before I have to bite your little ears off!" And then she ran off toward where they had come from. As she ran she thought about how her lovely walk was ruined, but in the end she didn't mind.
